I graduated from the University of South Alabama with a dual certification to teach K-6 students in either the general education or special education classroom. In the pursuit of becoming a better teacher, I attended and graduated from Grand Canyon University with my master's degree in Literacy. I believe that teaching reading is a science and I want to know all that I can so that I can develop strong readers. My next goal is to become a National Board Certified Teacher because learning is never done! I am married to a wonderful man named Jonathan. Together, we have 2 beautiful dogs: Sterling, a silver lab, and Chewie, a chocolate lab. They are our world and they are the friendliest fur babies you will ever meet! We are excited to soon welcome a baby boy in October of 2021. I have been teaching for 7 years and am excited to begin year 8!
